New Strategy on Power Absorption of a Concentric Two-Body Wave Energy Converter

The wave energy converter (WEC) system, which extracts electricity through the relative heave motion of two concentric cylinders, comprises an inner cylinder and a torus-type outer sliding along cylinder. To maximize between natural frequencies cylinders must be precisely tuned to resonate situated on each side peak frequency spectrum. However, demerit this strategy is that it demands deep draft for tuning, large-scale PTO damping device necessary mechanical power amplified by resonance.
